Russian Delegation Participated in the European Forum

Russian delegation headed by Russia – Hong Kong Business Association Chairman Ivan Polyakov participated in the European Forum, which was held on May 10-11, 2012 in Wien, Austria. The Forum’s organizers are Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide and Hong Kong Trade Development Council with the support of Vienna Economic Chamber. European Forum provides platform for heads and members of the Business Associations in Europe to meet and to brainstorm at regional level on the future direction of the Business Associations in the region. Association leaders are encouraged to raise new ideas, exchange information, share experiences and initiate greater co-operation.

The representatives of all 15 European national associations took part in the European Forum chaired by Lore Buscher, Regional Director Europe of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Georges Legros, Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide. Guest speaker Professor Dr. Susanne Weigelin-Schwierdzik, Department for East Asian Studies, University of Vienna, Austria made a speech “EU-Sino/HK relationships”.

Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide was launched in November 2000 with the support of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The Federation’s mission is to promote global co-operation and strengthening the relationships between the associations; to provide a unified global voice that will enhance business and investment opportunities in and through Hong Kong. The Federation is a network of 33 Hong Kong business associations counting more than 10,000 individual business executives and professionals in 34 countries and regions as member associates. Russia-Hong Kong Business Association has become the first member of the Federation to represent countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
