Hong Kong Week in Moscow

On October 9-13, 2013 the “Hong Kong Week” will be organised in Moscow by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with the support of the Russia - Hong Kong Business Association. Mr TSANG Tak-sing, Secretary for Home Affairs of the HKSAR Government will officiate at the opening ceremony.

“A Journey to Hong Kong” Exhibition, Ensemble Concert by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Hong Kong Film Festival will be held in Moscow in the framework of the “Hong Kong Week”.

On 9 October at 6pm at Chinese Cultural Centre (1 Ulitsa Pravdy, Building 1, Moscow) opening ceremony of the “A Journey to Hong Kong” Exhibition will be held. It will be a valuable opportunity to understand visually the distinct aspects of Hong Kong. TheExhibitionwillrunfrom9 Octoberto14 November, 2013.

On 10 October at 7pm the Ensemble Concert by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) will take place at Central House of Architect (7 Granatny Pereulok, Building 1, Moscow). Founded in 1977, the HKCO is deeply rooted in the Chinese cultural heritage. It is composed of 85 musicians, who use traditional and modified Chinese instruments. The orchestra’s repertoire includes both traditional Chinese music and contemporary full-scale works – a total more than 2,000 different compositions and arrangements. 

On 11 October at 6:30pm the “Hong Kong Film Festival” will be opened in Khudozhestvenny Cinema (14 Arbatskaya Ploshchad, Moscow). The opening film “Bodyguards And Assassins” is set in Hong Kong in 1906 when a group of martial artists protected China’s revolutionary Sun Yat-sen from an assassination attempted by the Manchurian troops. The Festival will run till 13 October and feature “Life Without Principle”, “Silent War”, “Drug War”, and “Cold War”.
