Ivan Polyakov opened the “Hong Kong and Zhuhai: Your Business Partners in China” seminar

“Russian business has already appreciated the advantages of Hong Kong. Today it is not the “gateway” but the “takeoff runway”, and not only to China but to the global Asian markets”, - stated Russia-Hong Kong Business Association Chairman Ivan Polyakov while opening the “Hong Kong and Zhuhai: your business partners in China” business seminar in Moscow on August 28, 2012.

Among the participants of the seminar’s opening and panel discussions there were Li Huei, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China in the Russian Federation, John Tsang, Financial Secretary, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Simon Galpin, Director-General, Invest Hong Kong, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Qingli Wang, Vice Mayor, Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government, Oleg Mukhamedshin, Deputy CEO & Head of Equity and Corporate Development, UC Rusal, Sergio Men, Partner, Eurasia Capital Partners Ltd.

The “Hong Kong and Zhuhai: your business partners in China” seminar was held on August 28, 2012 in Moscow. It was organized by Invest Hong Kong, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government with the support of Russia-Hong Kong Business Association, Russian-Chinese Business Council and All-Russia public organization “Business Russia”. More than 200 entrepreneurs, top-managers and public organizations’ representatives participated in the seminar.

In the framework of the business seminar the latest business opportunities and economic environment in Hong Kong and Zhuhai were represented. Hong Kong and Zhuhai are located in the Greater Pearl River Delta (PRD), China’s most affluent region with rapidly expanding purchasing power. The region has a total population of some 55 million; its total GDP and exports exceeding USD 665 billion and USD751 million respectively.
