Cooperation between Russia and Hong Kong was discussed in Vladivostok

“Hong Kong: Your Partner for Success in Asia” business seminar was held on May 20, 2010 in Vladivostok under the chairmanship of Financial Secretary of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Tsang and Chairman of the Russia-Hong Kong Business Association Ivan Polyakov.

In the framework of the seminar Financial Secretary of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Tsang stated: “One of the priorities of Hong Kong Government is the expansion of relations and penetration of Hong Kong into the new markets, search for new opportunities for wider network of trade and business partnership. In this connection the aim of the visit to Russia’s Far East is to study the opportunities of investors and joint-stock companies, real estate brokers, high-tech, tourist and logistic companies. Today we have considered the ways to develop the cooperation with businessmen of Primorski territory and the whole Russia. With due regard for the Russia’s potential Hong Kong is ready to offer its services and become a starting point to enter the Asia’s market”.

“Hong Kong is the largest financial center in Asia and it is distinct in high-level corporate culture. It can offer a number of unique techniques and mechanisms for cooperation with partners as in People’s Republic of China, so in other APEC countries”, - stated Chairman of the Russia-Hong Kong Business Association Ivan Polyakov.

The seminar participants were representatives of the Government and business community of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Primorski territory Administration representatives, entrepreneurs, members of the Russia-Hong Kong Business Association. The main discussion topics were “Hong Kong as Fund-Raising Centre for Russian Enterprises”, “Fast and Effective Trade Financing”, “Hong Kong: Your Premier Intermodal Logistics Hub”.
